First, most helicopter windows are acrylic plastic (as opposed to ""Lexan"" or polycarbonate), and acrylic plastic is scratchable. Scratched windows cause less visibility. 

We polish and restore the original visibility of windows without reducing the thickness. In order to maintain the integrity of the transparency we take into account not to reduce thickness of windows that affect bird impact resistance and other structural issues.
